Caribbean Beauties was established in 2013 and is a platform which showcases the Caribbean, its multi-cultural diversity, the islands and women. It boasts over 100,000 followers on Instagram since inception in 2013 and members comprise of Trinbagonians and other stakeholders throughout the region. Co-Founder of Caribbean Beauties and Mondayness Band Leader, Jesus Douglas gave the media a scope into the vision behind Mondayness. Mondayness is synonymous of Monday Wear and was created for masqueraders to showcase their Monday wear in an official capacity in terms of costume options. The band is comprised of seven (7) sections which are referred to as ‘pods’, which allow flexibility and choice for the masquerader. One can except a two-part treat in the band Mondayness – Road Sesh and Night Frolic also known as Festival of Friends. Each segment is geared towards soca hits, past and present each incorporating CDM and EDM soca via big trucks. The band boasts about the cashless technology system in place for purchasing drinks which will be available to masqueraders at an all low price. The Mondayness package comes complete with the original Mondaywear design, goodie bag, drinks of choice, shuttles, rest stop, washrooms and access to the Mondayness Night Frolic of Friends after party. Registration is ongoing online and will be available at the Mondayness Headquarters – 63 Carlos Street, Woodbrook in the following weeks.
